New Camcorder
The new camcorder I've purchased finally arrived yesterday. It's a small(and cheap) HD camcorder from Aiptek. I took some test shots and played around with it yesterday, I am very satisfy with it so far.
Please note this camcorder is only about US$250, which is cheap for a camcorder that does HD. Therefore the more advance functions are excluded, but basic functions like optical zoom(3x) and video light for night shots are included. The video quality is good, great actually. However, the image starts to distort when you shake the camcorder. This is not a big problem, since the package includes a tripod. I found the tripod very useful since, as you can see in the pictures, the camcorder is very small so it is kind of hard to hold. I just leave the camcorder on the tripod all the time and hold the tripod instead, it is just easier for me.
The camcorder record video in .mov format into the SD or SDHC card. Thus you will need quicktime player to play the videos. I am using a Mac, so I don't need to convert the video for editing, but there is a software included with the camcorder that convert videos to other format if you are using Windows.
